Boat Parade: Celebrating 150th Years of HAL

Calling all boating enthusiasts! Join us for the spectacular Boat Parade on the Hudson River. With convenient launch points at the Athens Boat Launch and Catskill Dutchman’s Landing staging.  All boats should assemble at the staging area starting at 11:00 am.

For those eager to witness the grand procession, be sure to gather at the Athens Riverfront Park at 12:00 pm and Catskill Dutchman’s Landing at 12:00 pm, and Hudson Riverfront Park at 11:00 am. Prepare to be captivated as the Boat Flotilla gracefully sails along the majestic Hudson River, encircling the iconic lighthouse. The parade sets sail from Athens, NY, meandering down to Catskill past the RVW bridge, before returning upstream to Hudson. The grand finale awaits at Hudson’s dock in the picturesque Hudson Riverfront Park.

Join us at Hudson Riverfront Park for a day of festivities, complete with music, delectable food, and joyous celebrations. Open to kids and adults of all ages, admission to the park is free for all.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse, brimming with rich maritime history and captivating stories. We cordially invite you to join us in commemorating this historic milestone and contribute to the preservation of the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse. Together, let us safeguard this iconic landmark for generations to come.

Location: Fun, food, & music at the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park from 11AM to 4PM; Boat parade begins in Athens at 12P. Boats will sail South past the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, and then head North as they circle the lighthouse.
